Simtech : structural optimization (topology - size and shape)
For twelve years, SimTech has been a provider of software and services for structural optimization. VR&D GENESIS or ALTAIR OPTISTRUCT are used in our projects, depending on customer's needs.

SimTech projects cover all aspects of structural optimization:
  • Topology optimization. In this case, we obtain the layout of a structure starting from a design space and project specifications.
  • Size and shape optimization (parametric). We assign a certain number of degrees of freedom to our structure (shell thickness, composite reinforcement density, member length/width ...) and we find the optimal value of these parameters
  • Specific (user-defined) optimization solution (e.g. quasi non linear problems).
In order to carry out more than sixty consulting projects using structural optimization, SimTech has developed many original software tools, such as:
  • A specialized pre- and post-processor
  • Mesh refinement and check based on topology optimization results
  • CAD output of topology and topometry optimization results
  • Automatic generation of reinforcement panels from topology layout
  • Domain (macro-) mesh generation and link to shape optimization
