Simtech : Pedestrian safety design with ENKIdou-Bonnet
ENKIdou-Bonnet is a tool for conceptual design of bonnets for pedestrian compatibility and stiffness/vibration performances based on ENKIDOU .
It comes from five years of experience in pedestrian compliance analysis and bonnet design

ENKIdou-Bonnet process automation features can be used in a conventional workflow, where the FE bonnet model is generated from a CAD model:
  • database of tests / impactor heads
  • DOE, montecarlo analysis tools
  • automatic simulation files generation
  • automatic retrieval of HIC, stroke
  • mapping of experimental results
  • interface to static/vibration analysis
  • morphing tools

ENKIdou-Bonnet bonnet design features help the user to design a bonnet directly using FE models. The bonnet can be optimized using automatic inner panel generation: Inner panels can be generated from a user-defined layout (structured panels) or from isotropic propagation of cell patterns.

For a quick analysis of bonnet, ENKIdou-Bonnet provides facilities to compute acceleration, stroke and HIC value on the whole surface of the bonnet. This process takes a few minutes and provides a reliable tool for bonnet optimization.
